Madhavi Lakkaraja, MD

I am a pediatric bone marrow transplant (BMT) /cell therapy physician whose research is focused on understanding factors influencing clinical outcomes in patients undergoing BMT and cellular therapies, optimizing therapies by “personalizing” them, such that they are effective and safe, and improving health care delivery and reducing the cost associated with these treatment modalities. I have been fortunate to have received the ASH Scholar Clinical Research Fellow and Junior Faculty awards to support my research, and be part of the ASTCT clinical research training course, ISCT Stem Cell Engineering committee as an Early Stage Professional and recently as a BMT CTN Next Generation Scholar, which has broadened my horizon and has continued to drive me towards working on cutting edge developments in the field.

Areas of Special Interest:

  • Precision transplant and cell therapies
  • Immune reconstitution and immune monitoring post-transplant/cell therapies
  • Focus on transplant for non-malignant disorders.
