Mamatha Mandava, MD

Dr. Mamatha Mandava is a pediatric hematologist-oncologist and Director of Hemoglobinopathy Transplants in the Division of Blood and Marrow Transplantation at Children's National Hospital in Washington, DC, where she also serves as Assistant Professor of George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences. She completed her fellowship training in Pediatric Hematology /Oncology at Medical University of South Carolina, followed by advanced subspeciality training in Blood and Marrow Transplantation through a joint program at National Cancer Institute, NIH and Children's National Medical Center.

Areas of Special Interest:

  • Curative therapies for hemoglobinopathies, including allogeneic transplant and gene therapy
  • Management of transplant related complications, such as viral infections and graft failure
