Maria Pereda, MD

Dr. Maria Pereda Ginocchio is an Assistant Professor of Pediatrics at Tulane University and a pediatric blood and marrow transplant physician at Manning Family Children’s Hospital in New Orleans. She earned her medical degree in Peru and completed her pediatric, hematology-oncology, and advanced blood and marrow transplantation/cellular therapy training in the United States, including a BMT fellowship at the University of Colorado. Her research focuses on improving transplant outcomes, expanding donor access for children with severe aplastic anemia and other nonmalignant disorders, and addressing disparities in transplantation and cellular therapy. Dr. Pereda Ginocchio is an  ASTCT Clinical Research Training Course (CTRC) scholar and a recipient of the H. Jean Khoury Award for Scholarly Excellence, the 2026 New Investigator Award, and the 2026 Louisiana Board of Regents Research Competitiveness Subprogram (RCS) Award.
